Code of Conduct

Alternative Events brings together people and organisations in the professional services sector.

We are committed to making our events, our workspaces and our social media and communications welcoming, productive, open, enjoyable and safe for everyone who associates with us, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, nationality or belief.

We will not tolerate any kind of harassment, including and not limited to sexual harassment, bullying, physical intimidation, or discrimination – in person or online.

Everyone associated with an Alternative Event (delegates, speakers, sponsors, staff and suppliers of good or services) is expected to:

  • Behave professionally and appropriately – if you wouldn’t do it or say it in your own office, please don’t do it or say it at our events, in our offices or via our communication channels.
  • Be kind and considerate – do not insult or put down others.
  • Be safe – please comply with all the rules, policies and procedures of our event venues or offices.

Alternative Events staff and venue security are available to manage and report inappropriate behaviour with discretion.

Anyone who is seen or reported to be behaving badly will be asked to stop that behaviour immediately.  If they fail to do so, they might be asked to leave.  Severe cases might result in a ban from future events.

If, in the unlikely event that you experience or witness any harassment or untoward behaviour, please report this in confidence to one of the Directors of Alternative Events – Sarah Katherine Bagshaw (sarahkatherine.bagshaw@alternativeevents.co.uk) or Steve Parrott (steve.parrott@alternativeevents.co.uk).

We take our responsibility seriously and will follow up all complaints or violations of this Code of Conduct in a professional and clear manner.
