As head of IT I take responsibility for how the firm uses technology and find ways to improve processes, systems and make the most of our data.
My role is much more than just Business as Usual IT, I have a passion for improving how we work and how efficient we can be. This is why I offer my advice to our board on how we can transform systems and processes within the firm and make it happen.
As my role and the IT industry in general has evolved since i started over 20 years ago, I have become more focused on investigating new technologies within our professional services. Finding ways to improve the service we can provide for our staff and clients, trying to improve the lives of our employees where I can. My experience has now allowed me to be invited to panel discussions at events to share my knowledge and expertise around technology and the world of accountancy.
The world is changing at a staggering rate, especially with the explosion of AI and RPA. One of the jobs we have as IT professionals is to find out how we can use the latest advancements in technology to allow us to use the vast amounts of data we all have to make real world business decisions (for us and our clients), whilst ensuring we work as efficiently as possible.
