Mark has worked in corporate finance since the turn of the century, which sounds like a long time, and it is. Much of that time has been spent with Old Mill, which he joined in 2006 when he was one of the first recruits into the then-new Exeter office.
He qualified with one of the ‘Big Four’ international accounting firms, initially in audit before finding his way into the exciting world of corporate finance. This time gave him exposure to some high-profile clients and the supposed glamour of international travel, but he really prefers working with owner-managed businesses and was keen to get back to Devon, having been at university in Exeter.
Mark took on the role of CEO of Old Mill in 2024 and is relishing the new challenges and learnings this brings, and the opportunity to focus on the strategic direction of the business.
Living on the northern edge of Dartmoor, his weekends often involve walks on the hills, and the much less active pursuits of drinking coffee and reading a book.
