I am senior legal counsel in the Data Protection, Technology & Procurement team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment (11 years’ PQE). I provide advice and assist with negotiation and closing of transactions globally, working with a variety of stakeholders within the business, including procurement, operations and technology. I have worked in a number of areas of the law throughout my career to date, gaining a wide portfolio of experience and transferable skills. Prior to that I worked in the Commercial & Corporate at Cambridge University Press for 4 years dealing with the commercial side of intellectual property transactions. My previous role was as corporate counsel for the United Kingdom and Ireland at the UK offices of the Subway food-to-go global franchise.

I worked on a broad range of legal topics in this role, including franchising, corporate matters and marketing. Before that, I worked as a legal manager in the Department for Education. I provided legal advice on commercial property transactions and worked with external solicitors and project teams to enable the delivery of school sites in a timely manner. On qualification, I worked for three years as a commercial property solicitor advising on a number of different areas of commercial property law, including freehold and leasehold transactions with a focus on clients in the charity and science and technology sectors.
