Clare Murray is the founder and Managing Partner of leading specialist partnership, employment and regulatory law firm, CM Murray LLP. She advises professional partnerships and partners, multi-national companies, senior executives and founders on complex partnership and employment law issues.
Partnership:
Clare has extensive experience in advising US and UK professional services firms and private equity and investment management partners. She has particular expertise in the strategic handling of partner conduct and performance issues, partner exits, team moves and restrictive covenants, as well as partner discrimination and whistleblowing issues. Clare and CM Murray LLP are co-founders of the Professional Practices Alliance, a multi-disciplinary alliance of leading advisers to professional services firms and their partners.
Employment:
Clare has advised on many sexual harassment and bullying matters in professional services firms and multi-national companies. In March 2018, Clare was appointed as the specialist adviser to the House of Commons’ Women & Equalities Committee in respect of its Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Inquiry.
Clare is regarded as a market leader in providing strategic advice to senior executives and founders. Clare and CM Murray LLP established the International Forum of Senior Executive Advisers (IFSEA), which brings together leading advisers to the C-Suite from around the world, who focus on risk, reward, regulation and reputation management issues affecting senior executives and founders. CM Murray LLP is also a co-founder of global employment law alliance, Innangard.

Clare was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in November 1993.
Clare is a member of the livery of the City of London Solicitors Company (CLSC), a Court Assistant and the Chair of the CLSC Communications Committee.
Clare is a member of the Section Council of the Labor & Employment Section of the American Bar Association, and a former Co-Chair of the ABA LEL International Committee.
She is also a former Chair of the International Committee of the UK Employment Lawyers Association.
Clare is ranked as an “Eminent Practitioner” for Partnership (Contentious), Partnership (Non-Contentious) and Employment (Senior Executive) by Chambers and Partners UK 2025; and is also ranked in the “Hall of Fame” by Legal 500 UK 2025 for her work advising on Partnership and Senior Executive matters.
