Alex joined James Cowper Kreston in 1998 and became a partner in 2008. Since May 2020 he has been joint managing partner along with Sue Staunton. He combines this role with continuing to act for a wide range of different clients and is a partner within the firm’s audit & assurance service line.
Throughout his career Alex has worked with a cross section of different clients including companies, individuals, charities, and Academy Trusts. Corporate clients are typically owner managed or have international connections being UK subsidiaries of overseas groups or UK groups with operations overseas.
Outside the firm, until December 2024 Alex was a member of the International Federation of Accountants’ SMP Advisory Group, a role that provided the opportunity to be at the forefront of the development of the profession globally as well as input directly into new auditing and ethical standards. He also Chairs the Kreston Global Quality Group.
Away from the office Alex recently served as a governor and chair of governors at a local primary school and acted as the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at a local Multi Academy Trust.
