Alex graduated from Oxford University in 2003, and gained many years of broad legal experience at leading international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells, including client secondments at Tesco, ExxonMobil and Goldman Sachs.

He set up Ignition Law in 2015, now a high growth full-service law firm, which has worked with many thousands of start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurial clients, to provide pragmatic and cost-effective legal services in a community minded and ethical way. Ignition also works with many leading business schools, universities, family offices and investors.

Ignition Law has won awards and been shortlisted by all major industry awards – the Lawyer Awards, Legal Business Awards, SME News, the Law Society Awards, the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, LegalWeek Awards for Innovation and the Great British Entrepreneurship Awards.

Alex Co-Founded Ignition Financial, a corporate finance and tax boutique to also help start-ups, scale ups and entrepreneurial businesses.

Outside of Ignition, and several successful (and unsuccessful!) pursuits, Alex is an Entrepreneurship Expert at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and sits on a corporate advisory board of LexisNexis, as well as being a Non-Exec Director of InniAccounts – an innovative accountancy technology business.
