AI: what’s safe, what’s sensible, and what to do if you’re already using it

Many smaller firms are either avoiding AI entirely or experimenting without a clear framework. Both carry risk. This session is a practical, no-jargon guide to using AI in a way that’s responsible, to regulators, to insurers and to your clients.

Biography

Mark Kiteley is the Managing Director of Rawlins Davy Reeves (incorporating Jacobs & Reeves), bringing decades of experience in law firm management, strategic growth, and regulatory compliance to the table.

Having co-founded Kiteleys Solicitors and built it into a multi-office regional practice before selling his interest in 2017, Mark offers the distinct dual perspective of both entrepreneur and lawyer. He re-entered leadership in 2020 to spearhead operations and compliance, navigating firms through complex modern operating landscapes.

Mark focuses on practical, commercial solutions to operational challenges. A specialist who possesses the rare trait of genuinely enjoying regulation, risk management, and governance, he has helped restructure and modernise regional legal services—proving it is entirely possible to take regulatory compliance seriously without taking oneself too seriously.

Deeply engaged with the wider legal sector, Mark has served on the Law Society’s Professional Indemnity Committee, is a past President of the Bournemouth District Law Society, and regularly chairs their annual compliance conference.
