Biography

Helen M. Schweitz is an experienced technology transactions attorney who currently leads Subway’s Global Contracts team.

She began her legal career in-house at a publicly traded insurance company in the USA. She later moved to the law firm of Quarles & Brady and then to Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, where she made partner in 2022. Her move back in-house to Subway in the fall of 2024 was fuelled in part by a desire to relocate to The Netherlands and she is delighted to be working and living in Amsterdam.

Helen leads a team that handles all of Subway’s vendor, technology, and supply chain agreements worldwide. She takes a practical approach to contracting by balancing the business objectives with the legal risks presented by a particular engagement. She sees it as her job to give her clients options, period. Helen grew up in Japan and is a “third-culture kid.”
