Peer-to-peer Roundtables are 30-minute discussion groups, each led by a leader from a corporate legal team. Biography

Hey! I’m Ben

I help privacy teams build AI tools, and I’m building an AI-native privacy programme at Wordsmith AI.

A few years back, I wrote a book called GDPR for Startups and Scaleups: A Practical Guide, to help growing businesses understand data protection law.

Building on this, I’ve launched a podcast where I speak to experts who work at the intersection of law, privacy and AI. In each episode we unpack what the rules are, how organisations are implementing them, and what is coming next.

In my last role, I was a Director of Privacy at Trustpilot, and helped to shape online trust in a rapidly growing FTSE250 business.

Before I got deep into data protection, I started out in environmental law at Osborne Clarke, and then moved into privacy and product work at OVO Energy, and King (makers of Candy Crush).

In addition to my legal work, I love a creative project. I previously ran a sustainable menswear brand, Grove and Co, as well as a furniture design project, called Things Ben Made.
